Flexi Seals

The Flexiseal® system was designed to meet the ever increasing demand for seals to work in harsher environments. In extreme conditions where elastomers do not work PTFE is seen as the answer. However, PTFE has no memory and requires an energising component, usually in the form of an o-ring to enable it to seal efficiently. In extreme conditions an elastomer energiser will dramatically reduce the working range of the PTFE. The Flexiseal® system does away with an elastomer energiser and replaces it with an energising spring therefore enabling a greater range of the chemical and thermal properties of the PTFE to be used. Flexiseals® are also available in UHMW-PE.
